Frequently Asked Questions

What is ARCSI?

The Association of Residential Cleaning Services International [formerly ARCP] is a member-based professional trade association. It was established to provide business owners in the residential cleaning industry opportunities to come together to share ideas, information, and experience.

What is a trade association?

An industry trade association is an organization that is formed to promote the particular industry it represents, including areas like public awareness and education. Every industry is represented by at least one trade association. An active trade association works to improve the entire industry. Joining together for common goals can result in real changes, like better rates on insurance or lower prices on supplies. Companies respond well to trade associations by listening to what the members want and need, resulting in new and improved products and equipment for our industry.  Being involved in a trade organization for your specific industry can give you instant access to information and technology that will greatly improve your own business environment.

Who are the members?

ARCSI represents professionals in the home cleaning industry. Typically our members are the owners or managers. Our members’ businesses range in size from very small start-up operations that may only have one person cleaning homes, up to well established services that have many employees and millions in sales each year.

What is the Purpose of ARCSI?

At ARCSI, our goal is to represent home cleaning service owners and managers, whether they are independent or part of a franchise, and to provide opportunities for our members to come together to network, learn, and work toward the common goal of increasing awareness in this industry.

Why should I join ARCSI?

Anyone who is serious about building a successful cleaning service should join and be part of this organization.

ARCSI provides access to information, short cuts to success, and the opportunity to gain valuable insight from others who have done and are doing exactly what you are trying to do. Successful business owners realize how much of an impact being involved can have on their business experience!

Once you join ARCSI and get involved you will be amazed at the number of successful business owners that willingly share information and ideas. You will have the opportunity to network with service owners from all across the country that experience the same issues as you. You will instantly gain a sense of unity by hearing from other residential cleaning service owners like yourself!

What is ARCSI doing to improve the industry?

Over the past three years ARCSI members have had the opportunity to participate in several high-profile events that have gained international recognition for the new association, including two national meetings and conventions. ARCSI is also working with our associate members to provide discounts on services and products that can significantly improve the bottom line of your business.
We are constantly working with leaders in the industry to develop new opportunities. Currently on the horizon is an association sponsored insurance program that will save our members money on insurance policies. We are also working to develop a certification program for the home cleaning industry that will set the standards for the industry! In addition to these two monumental tasks, we continue to identify and develop new training materials to provide service owners with more options in this much needed area.

What does "Member-based association” mean?

ARCSI is made up of members that are in the home cleaning industry.  The membership has control over the association and its direction.
